Carlin wins the award for the most laid-back bride I have ever had the pleasure of working with. In fact, she called me days before her wedding after she decided it would be nice to have photos! I just so happened to be available, and made a commitment to be there in time for the vows. Her and her fiancé Matt had an intimate wedding with Lake Erie shimmering in the background. Their marriage license was surrounded by beach glass in striking hues of blue and green. This wedding was simple and concise, but sometimes those weddings can truly be the most dazzling.

This country wedding was set in the sprawling backyard of the newlyweds home. With their creative vision the property looked like it was made to host a celebration! A scroll of burlap along the grass made their aisle, a handmade wooden dance floor awaited guests under a white tent, hints of baby’s breath adorned the tables, complimenting the boutonniere on the side of the groom’s button down, and their dog beau greeted everyone looking as handsome as ever sporting a large bowtie. Guest seating areas varied from the box of an antique chevy pickup truck, wooden picnic tables and Adirondack chairs around a fire pit, each accompanied with plaid fleece blankets.  If that isn’t the ideal country wedding, I don’t know what is! Thank you Pat & Taryn for including me on your special day.

Ashly reached out to me for engagement photos after Clinton proposed, and we had so much fun touring around our hometown of Blenheim for the session. After getting those close-to-home images, they decided to take off and get married in the Dominican! The best part? They asked me to come along to be their photographer! I was thrilled. I laugh when I think about it, and how thankful I was Ashly asked me over email. I don’t think I would have been able to keep my cool in person! While I have flown across Canada to assist photographing weddings, this was my first Caribbean destination wedding. I learned so much about travelling with my equipment it was truly invaluable. So off I went to capture their love story under the Punta Cana sunshine. The skies were so blue and clear the day of their wedding and I remember feeling the sand in between my toes while photographing the details of their very breezy, open-concept venue. They said their ‘I-do’s’ amongst swaying palm trees, and the celebrations lasted long after nightfall.

If I had to describe Nicola and Brett’s wedding day in one word, I would have to go with glamorous. Take one look at Nicola’s dress and you’ll see why! Her groom complimented her looking handsome in navy and a crisp white tie. Nicola and her girls got ready at Chatham’s premiere boutique hotel, The Retro Suites, and Brett and his crew cleaned up at his family cottage in Erieau. The two met for their I do’s on the patio at one of my favourite venues to shoot at- Deer Run Golf Course. This couple pulled out all the stops for their stunning celebration, from little details to the decor, and it showed in every way. Cheers to this happy couple!

Paula and Mike celebrated their newlywed status along the Thames riverside here in Chatham-Kent. When I think of their big day, I think of all the lovely crafted details sprinkled around the property. There was an entire backdrop made out of streamers dedicated to guest photos. Pretty purple flowers strung in the trees, and my favourite, a wooden sign that read ‘Mutual Weirdness Forever’. A simple globe invited guest signatures, and a vegan meal gave a nod to the couples' shared compassion. Paula & Mike were surrounded by excited friends and family that afternoon and their love for each other was obvious to say the least.

Meghan and Blake shared their wedding celebration with Canada’s 150th birthday! Their beautiful farmhouse wedding was perfected with stunning florals, accents of cooper and rosegold, and of course, night time fireworks. Meghan looked radiant in her lace gown, and shared the sweetest moment with her husband-to-be during their first look. The skies threatened a storm just prior to their outdoor ceremony, but cleared as they sealed their vows with a kiss. Speeches were given from such an obvious close knit group of people, both laughter and tears ensued. An all around gorgeous day from start to finish, I was so glad to capture their big day.
